The definition of a volunteer, as per the Collins Dictionary is:
A person who voluntarily offers himself or herself for a service or undertaking; a person who performs a service willingly and without pay.
The Elliot Lake Emergency Food Bank has been “blessed” over the past thirty (30) years to have been staffed by community residents who exemplify this definition. These amazing individual’s do not expect accolades or acknowledgement. They give freely of their time, energy, and good will. Without our Volunteers we would not be able to operate our Food Bank.
Our Volunteers perform a variety of functions, from unloading delivery trucks, stocking shelves, packing hampers, serving our clients, and cleaning the building. They come in no matter what the weather. They make our service a critical component in the City’s Community Wellness Program. These dedicated individuals exemplify that “charity begins at home”, as they serve those less fortunate in our community.
We acknowledge the great service you have provided for the past thirty (30) year and we extend a very heartfelt Thank You and my God Bless You.
